“And He Commanded Me That I Should Seal Them Up”

D. Kelly Ogden, Andrew C. Skinner

Moroni’s feelings about the Book of Mormon record: the plates have no monetary value; their great worth lies in glorifying God and testifying of the Redeemer, especially to benefit the “ancient and long dispersed covenant people of the Lord.” He pronounced a blessing upon Joseph Smith, who would bring the record out of the earth, out of darkness into light.

For the meaning of “hell fire,” see commentary at 3 Nephi 12:21–22.
