“Ye Are Numbered Among the People of the First Covenant”

George Reynolds, Janne M. Sjodahl

With a pride only exceeded by his knowledge of their mutual heritage, Mormon avers that they are of the Seed of Jacob, and as such are numbered among those of the House of Israel. They are by the fact of being such, heirs of the Priesthood, and children-even if they were wayward-of the Most High God. They were entitled to every blessing of righteousness which the Lord, the Mighty Judge, promised, if only they would repent and do no more the things they should not do, and do that which they should do.

"And if it so be that ye believe in Christ," Mormon tells them in his admonishing them, "and are baptized, first with water, then with fire and with the Holy Ghost, following the example of our Savior, according to that which He hath commanded us, it shall be well with you in the Day of Judgment."
