“From This Time Forth Did the Nephites Gain No Power over the Lamanites”

George Reynolds, Janne M. Sjodahl

In the year 375, as we have noted, the Lamanites "with all their power," came to battle again with the decadent Nephites. The number of the Lamanite invaders was so great that they were not counted. They were numberless. First, the Lamanites attacked the wicked City Desolation, and again it fell to the assault of the Lamanites; the whole Land of Desolation was turned into a battlefield where men fought in hand-to-hand combat, neither giving nor taking quarter; neither did they think of God Who in times past often planted victory upon the banners of those who called upon His holy Name. Again the Nephites were sorely beaten.
