“Therefore I Write Unto You, Gentiles, and Also Unto You, House of Israel,”

Literature: Mormon’s “therefore” indicates not only a conclusion but also a shift in his narrative. He has finished a historical passage, but the reason for his historical narrative is always to help us, his future readers, to better understand what is before us. He therefore addresses his future audience directly, hoping that we will listen although his contemporaries would not.
