“A Chance for Repentance”

Ed J. Pinegar, Richard J. Allen

One of the most precious divine gifts from God is the opportunity to exercise our moral agency in choosing the right pathway and recognizing the blessings that come from heaven. We can take an example from the benighted Nephites of this period. Their hard-heartedness robbed them of discernment for the things of God. We can do better. We can remember to acknowledge our Heavenly Father and Savior in all things. The result is that we will be continually blessed and preserved from the encroachments of those who wish to destroy peace and undermine the operation of eternal principles in our lives. For the Nephites of Mormon’s day it is not to be so, for they willfully reject the light of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
