“The People Were All Converted Unto the Lord”

Joseph F. McConkie, Robert L. Millet
Here is the crux of the matter, the foundation for spiritual success—the people were first and foremost converted to Christ the Lord. Their trust was in him. Their reliance was upon him. Their hope was in him and his merits. Programs and procedures and policies—even inspired and God-given ones—can have efficacy, virtue, and force, can be of saving value, only to the degree that they are centered and grounded in the atoning mission and message of Jesus the Christ.
