“When the Lord Shall See Fit, in His Wisdom, That These Sayings Shall Come Unto the Gentiles . . . then Ye May Know: A Prophesy of the Book of Mormon As a Sign”

Ed J. Pinegar, Richard J. Allen

When the Book of Mormon comes forth in the year 1820, the Saints of the Restoration know with certainty that the covenant made by the Lord with the children of Israel concerning their being restored to the lands of their inheritance is beginning to be fulfilled. In this regard, compare also the statement of Mormon’s son, Moroni: “When ye shall receive this record ye may know that the work of the Father has commenced upon all the face of the land” (Ether 4:17). The Book of Mormon is a key indicator of the Restoration in these the latter days, and one of the most powerful tools for missionary work in the kingdom of God.
