What can we learn from the righteous desires of these disciples?

Thomas R. Valletta

“The trust level was so high that our Resurrected Lord let his disciples ask, and it was given not simply because Jesus knew their thoughts, but because true disciples do not use their fervent faith to ask for anything which is not right. … If we can achieve a significant milestone in discipleship, we will find that ‘he that asketh in the Spirit asketh according to the will of God; wherefore it is done even as he asketh.’ (D&C 46:30.) … God only shares his power with those who will not abuse it, nor use it to cover their sins, gratify their pride, ambition, or control other men” (Maxwell, Time to Choose, 29).
