What did the Savior’s mortal life teach us about His relationship with His Father?

Thomas R. Valletta

Elder Bruce R. McConkie explained: “The Son came to do the will of the Father in all things. Jesus said: ‘I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me’ (John 6:38). Also [quotes 3 Nephi 27:13–14]. And Paul said of him: He ‘made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man. He humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross’ (Philip. 2:7–8). How better could his relationship with his Father be stated?” (Doctrines of the Restoration, 62).
