“Pleasant Unto the Lord”

Brant Gardner

In the context of Mosaic law, the purified sons of Levi would have offered a sacrifice that was “pleasant unto the Lord.” In the gospel context, the sacrifice would be believers’ contrite spirits. In either case, the meaning is that, when Yahweh comes to his temple, his people will be purified and their offerings accepted.
