“For Great Are the Words of Isaiah”

W. Cleon Skousen

Jesus expressed a special affection for the writings of Isaiah and he spent considerable time expounding all of the scriptures so the people could see how important they were in comprehending the gospel and learning more about the Father and the Son.

Here is one of the commandments of the Lord which the Saints have taken lightly. The book of Isaiah is difficult to read unless a person has had the same revelation as Isaiah. Such was the case with Lehi, Nephi and Jacob. Over the years I have carefully studied the writings of this great prophet, and in an attempt to make the writings of Isaiah easier to understand I wrote a book entitled Isaiah Speaks to Modern Times. Every once in awhile I receive a letter from someone who says they have just been reading the Isaiah book and they have found out how exciting his writings can be. For an author this is what makes it all worthwhile.
