But why not restore the gospel directly to the Lamanites rather than first give it to the American Gentiles? Jesus knew that the Lamanites would have just passed through several centuries of apostasy and darkness and therefore the Christian Gentiles would be better prepared to receive the gospel than the Lamanites or seed of Jacob.
