“The Uncircumcised and the Unclean”

Brant Gardner

According to the rules of ritual purity, contact with something or someone unclean would pollute the clean person. Thus, the promise that “there shall no more come into thee the uncircumcised and the unclean” is equivalent to making Jerusalem as sacred as a temple. Its purity would be undefiled. In modern times when rules of ritual purity do not apply, purity of heart and intention are still attributes of true temple worship.
