“For Your Sakes”

At this point, Jesus has come back to his earlier observation: “I perceive that ye are weak” (3 Ne. 17:2). Despite their fatigue, the people would not have willingly left Jesus’s presence. Therefore, it was “for your sakes” that Jesus initiated the separation. He had already promised to return on the morrow, so this separation would be short.
