Even after someone is cut off from the blessings of the Church it is the obligation of priesthood leaders to continue in their efforts to minister unto such; there is perhaps then an even greater obligation to care for and minister to them.
Untiring efforts in seeking to bring the lost sheep back to the fold will not go unrewarded by the Lord (see Matthew 18:12-14).
