“Unto Him That Endureth to the End Will I Give Eternal Life”

Brant Gardner

Jesus explains verse 7 more explicitly in the connection between these two statements. The law of Moses is fulfilled; and in Jesus-as-fulfillment, we may eventually have eternal life. Thus, while changes in practice may occur, the goal does not. Indeed, the gospel improves our ability to reach the ultimate goal of eternal life. Believers would no longer attempt to achieve eternal life by observing the law of Moses but rather by living the gospel and enduring to the end or persisting until the process is complete. (See the commentary accompanying 3 Nephi 13:48.)
