“Nephi—having Been Visited by Angels . . . Began to Testify, Boldly, Repentance and Remission of Sins Through Faith on the Lord Jesus Christ with Power and with Great Authority”

Ed J. Pinegar, Richard J. Allen

The contrasting portraits of Nephi (with his priesthood associates) and Jacob (with his minions) provide a stark demarcation between the light of the gospel and the eclipsed bleakness of satanic evil. Nephi’s daily companions are the angels of God. He proclaims the redeeming word of Christ among the people from AD 31 to AD 32, knowing full well that destruction for the wicked looms on the horizon. With great power, Nephi commands the people to repent and performs great miracles among them. However, there are relatively few who are willing to be reclaimed from their iniquity on the eve of the great geophysical dislocations which attend the death and resurrection of the Lord. How great is the faith and courage of Nephi. In faith, we too can teach with power and receive untold blessings from God on behalf of our families and associates.
