“Some Were Humble and Penitent Before God”

George Reynolds, Janne M. Sjodahl

Notwithstanding the blessings vouchsafed to them by the Lord, pride and angry passions molded the pattern offered in the lives of many Nephites of this period. Yet, there were others who because of deep spiritual understanding "were exceedingly humble." They refused to rail while others railed at them; neither did they revile the reviler, nor smite the smiter; they bore all manner of affliction remembering that God claims the righteous man as His own. To them He was The Majesty On High, and before Him, they were humble and penitent.
