“They Should Withdraw Themselves from the Siege”

Brant Gardner

The impossibility of this particular siege becomes apparent, and it is abandoned. However, the pressure on the Nephites is not abandoned just because the siege is. The Gadiantons march northward. They apparently are attempting to sieze and control a more northward location. This would leave the lands of the Nephites alone for the time being, but would isolate them between the Gadianton holdings in the mountains on their southern edges, and this new Gadianton holding on the north. This would be a form of siege, but one that would take even longer to have an effect. Nevertheless, it was a continuation of the military pressure that was being placed upon the land of Zarahemla.
