“They Were Numbered Among the Nephites and Were Called Nephites”

Brant Gardner

In the light of the removal of the marriage prohibition, it would therefore be quite significant that Mormon noted that: “their young men and their daughters became exceedingly fair.” This is not a statement that their physiology changed, but they became attractive because they were now available. Once again it is noted that this change has happened not through righteousness, but because: “they were numbered among the Nephites, and were called Nephites.”
