Nehorite philosophy discredits believers as magicians who perform “cunning and… mysterious arts of the evil one.” In other words, miracles cannot be true so they must be inspired by the devil. To justify their own beliefs, these Nehorite Nephites not only deny the gospel but assign its obvious good deeds to the devil. To exalt themselves, they must denigrate the gospel.
