“Insomuch That They Could Not Hit Him with Their Stones Neither with Their Arrows”

W. Cleon Skousen

This verse contains another pleasant surprise. The apostate Nephites had become so infuriated that they had tried to kill Samuel by shooting him with arrows or hurling deadly stones at him. But to the dismay of the would-be assassins and to the great satisfaction of Samuel, the stones and arrows were deflected as though Samuel were protected by an invisible shield.
