Beginning with this next verse Samuel demonstrates an amazing comprehension of the future history of the Lamanites. He knows that they will dwindle in unbelief and that they will be involved in centuries of warfare, but they will survive as a people and even when the Gentiles of the latter days drive them and slaughter many, yet they will finally accept the gospel and enter into God's sanctuary.
