“Restored Unto You”

Brant Gardner

Samuel’s use of “restored” is similar to how Alma2 used the term (Alma 42:27–28). This doctrine of restoration is not the restoration of the body and soul, but rather the qualitative nature of the resurrection. If we do good, we will receive good. If we do evil, we will receive the wages of evil. This meaning of “restoration” is part of Samuel’s emphasis on salvation from the second death.
