After his discourse on the Messiah’s death, Samuel announces the signs of his death. Just as the Messiah’s birth would be indicated by a night that was not night, so his death will be indicated by days that are not days. Miraculous light will accompany his birth; miraculous darkness will signal his death. Even though the birth and death occur on a different hemisphere, the entire world will take notice—even the heavens themselves.
