Mormon notes that the near-universal peace is marred by “a few contentions” on doctrinal issues. As I have noted throughout this commentary, religion and politics were tightly connected. (See commentary accompanying 2 Nephi 32:1.) These seeds of religious dissension will grow into political disruption.
