Mormon does not tell us how the Spirit removed Nephi from this dangerous situation. Clearly, it was not so dramatic that it roused faith in the unbelievers. Although Nephi has been imprisoned before, both by the Lamanites and by his own people, his mission now requires his freedom to continue preaching.
