Let it suffice to say that prophets establishing the legitimacy of their prophetic office and the message they have been commissioned to bring, as Nephi does in the instance of this chapter, are inseparable part of the very system by which the heavens communicate with mortals. Signs are and ever have been tokens of divine authority and power.
