Nephi reminds his listeners that the Lamanites have received the gospel message and are faithful to it. The Nephites had been the first to have the gospel, but have now rejected it. The Lamanites are more righteous. Nevertheless, despite his dire prophecies, Nephi offers the hope that his listeners will avoid the consequences of their actions by repenting.
