“He Was Pouring out His Soul”

There are some prayers, some pleadings to God, in which the supplicant truly bends and stretches his soul. Even Jesus, the greatest of all, came to a time of personal and cosmic crisis when “being in an agony he prayed more earnestly” (Luke 22:44). Here Nephi is pained over the sins and iniquities of his day and raises his voice high that it reaches the heavens.
