Evidence of Lamanite righteousness is their destruction of the Gadiantons by converting them. The idea that the Lamanites would “hunt the band of robbers” for the sole purpose of preaching to them seems a bit incongruous. This is either a literary construction for what happened or perhaps a euphemism somewhat similar to the conversion of the natives after the Spanish conquest, which exibited more compulsion than actual change of heart.
