“The Spirit of the Lord Began to Withdraw from the Nephites”

Ed J. Pinegar, Richard J. Allen

The cycle of pride is relentless, reminding us of the need for enduring vigilance and repentance. Prosperity in worldly things can all too often cloud spiritual vision and cause the people to lapse, because of ease and pride, into disobedience and iniquity. The price of wickedness and hardness of heart results in a horrible loss—the withdrawal of the Holy Ghost. We need this gift for comfort in our trials, direction in our lives, and guidance in all things. Let us live worthy of the Spirit. Otherwise we are at the mercy of the devil and susceptible to his temptations.
