To emphasize the role of the Gadiantons, particularly their mode of acquiring political influence through murder, Mormon repeats that they are also responsible for the murders of Cezoram and his son. This accusation is also preparation for the next murder (Hel. 8–9), in which Nephi is involved as a prophetic witness.
