While the Nephites harden their hearts, the Lamanites are receptive to Yahweh’s word. This shift in the Nephites’ statistical righteousness will lead to their ruin. The righteous Nephites in the church have not disappeared. They are simply outnumbered by worldly Nephites and have become a religious minority in their own land. Still, they “did rejoice one with another, and did have great joy.”
