Three hundred missionaries of their own people was certainly an effective group. We don’t know the total population of the Lamanites at this time, but it was certainly comparable and probably surpassed the thousands brought to the fold of God by the sons of Mosiah (see Alma 26:4), and even the tens of thousands brought into the church by Helaman and his two sons Nephi and Lehi about ten years earlier (Helaman 4:24–26). The results were three-fold; the end of war, the healing of hatred, and the return of land to the Nephites (Helaman 5:51–52).
