“Regaining Half of All Their Possessions”

Brant Gardner

By the end of the fifty-ninth year, the Nephites had lost most of their territory. However, during the sixtieth year, Moronihah launched a counter-offensive that succeeded, by the sixty-first year, in retaking “half of all their possessions.” Zarahemla, their traditional capital, remained in Lamanite hands.

Chronology: The sixty-first year of the reign of the judges correlates to approximately 34 B.C.
