“Lead the Man of Christ in a Strait and Narrow Course”

D. Kelly Ogden, Andrew C. Skinner

In the scriptures, the term man or mankind is a generic word for a human—male or female. For example, Doctrine and Covenants 20:18 notes that God “created man, male and female, after his own image.”

“The man of Christ,” therefore, refers to any person, male or female, who has the desire and determination to follow Christ. These verses provide us with a pattern by which we may know how the man or woman of Christ can operate in a world filled with secret combinations and corrupt government.

On the meaning of “strait and narrow” see commentary at 2 Nephi 9:39–41. On the meaning of “right hand” see commentary at 1 Nephi 20:13.
