How does this passage show strength in unity?

Thomas R. Valletta

“After Moroni received Pahoran’s gracious reply, ‘his heart did take courage.’ He began to march toward the land of Gideon, and ‘thousands did flock unto his standard, and did take up their swords in the defence of their freedom.’ (Alma 62:1–5.) As Moroni and Pahoran united their forces, ‘they became exceedingly strong’ and successfully rooted out the king-men, the internal dissenters who would have toppled the government from within. After being placed on trial in accordance with the laws of the land, ‘those king-men, whosoever would not take up arms in the defence of their country, but would fight against it, were put to death.’ (Alma 62:6–9.)” (Condie, “Righteous Oaths, Reproof, and Reconciliation,” 89).
