Redaction: Moroni repeats his ultimatum. He could have cut the letter in half and still communicated his point perfectly, since the second half of his letter essentially repeats information from the first half. Obviously, he has written this letter in a passion that has only intensified as he has continued. A formally constructed text provides the opportunity to edit for succinctness and effectiveness. Moroni’s frustration with the situation boils up and over. His fury at the government’s inaction is not assuaged by expressing it once. As indicated in the commentary on Alma 60:9–10, this obvious temper is revealed in letters, but does not appear to have spilled over into his actions on the battlefield.
