Text: Mormon’s transition from Helaman’s letter to Moroni’s next actions repeats the year-marker. Helaman’s letter has covered four years (see commentary accompanying Alma 53:23); and while Mormon had indicated that it was the thirtieth year when he began quoting Helaman’s letter (Alma 56:1), he repeats it here to make the timing clear.
Chronology: The thirtieth year of the reign of the judges would be approximately 64 B.C.
