Teomner is a Nephite leader in the army of Helaman. Teomner, along with Gid (who had earlier served as chief captain over the group of Lamanites sent to Zarahemla—see Alma 57:29), assists Helaman in luring out the Lamanites from the city of Manti. The strategy proceeds as follows:
Thereafter, the Lamanites flee into the wilderness, and the Nephites are able to return to their cities, as Helaman confirms in his epistle to Moroni: “But behold, our armies are small to maintain so great a number of cities and so great possessions. But behold, we trust in our God who has given us victory over those lands, insomuch that we have obtained those cities and those lands, which were our own” (verses 32–33).
