“The faith of the stripling warriors kept them from dying. Sometimes, however, people of great faith die. Sometimes people are given priesthood blessings and they still die. … Abinadi had great faith, but he died. Joseph Smith had great faith, but he died. … When we exercise faith in [God], and in his timing, we can be assured that all things will work together for our good, however painful they may be for us at the moment. If someone you love dies, it does not necessarily mean that your faith was lacking. … The stripling warriors survived … because of their faith in God and because, in this case, it was God’s will that they survive” (Bytheway, Righteous Warriors, 118–19).
