Helaman credits the Nephite victory to those men who returned, and to his young Ammonite soldiers. The young men had at least one engagement behind them, and, in this one, they did everything that they were commanded to do.
They defeat the Lamanite army, which was driven back to the city of Manti, which was at the major entrance point to the Nephite lands from the Lamanite lands to the south. The army returns to Cumeni to assess their losses, and to heal.
