“We Should Take Those Provisions and Send Them to Judea”

Brant Gardner

Given this decisive step, the Nephites now prepare to attack the city itself. They do not want Lamanite prisoners in their rear, nor do they want to detach units to guard in place, so they send the prisoners to Zarahemla, where they joined the prisoners from Antiparah’s army after Helaman and the army of Antipus had defeated them. They also send away the excess provisions, this time to Judea, which was this army’s home base. The army would either return there victorious, or in sore need of recuperation. In either case, the supplies would be safer there.
