Despite the initial casualties to Antipus’s forces, the united Nephite units overwhelm the Lamanites who eventually surrender. It has been a heroic and desperate struggle. Each army has used its best options, but the turning point was obviously the decision of Helaman’s untested young men to enter the battle.
