Antipus attempted this strategy against Antiparah for two reasons: (1) The unnamed city was a believable objective that could explain Helaman’s movement around Antiparah, and (2) The strongest Lamanite division was in Antiparah. Recapturing it would not only strengthen the Nephite defenses but mean destroying a significant enemy force in that region.
