Thomas R. Valletta

The 1828 American Dictionary of the English Language defines sally as “to issue or rush out, as a body of troops from a fortified place to attack besiegers.” In the case of Alma 56:29, the Lamanites would send forth bodies of troops in attempts to prohibit the reinforcement of provisions and supplies by the Nephites.
