“They Have Died in the Cause of Their Country and of Their God Yea, and They Are Happy”

D. Kelly Ogden, Andrew C. Skinner

This is a valuable and comforting commentary on those righteous ones who die in combat: “They have died in the cause of their country and of their God, yea, and they are happy.” Indeed, the righteous are not lost to us just because they are slain in war. They receive the Lord’s reward—his “rest,” which is the fulness of his glory, according to Doctrine and Covenants 84:24 (also Alma 60:13).
