Also as in the Manti battle, some were willing to capitulate and others were not. Apparently those who retained their weapons, rather than laying them down voluntarily, did not continue fighting, however, for Moroni had them disarmed and bound. He does not allow any of the Lamanites to leave, nor does Mormon specify that he offered them a covenant (Alma 44:19–20); but Moroni may have taken an oath of those who willingly surrendered their weapons and left them unbound, though still prisoners.
