As with the army of Zarahemnah, when Moroni had the clear advantage, he stopped the killing to attempt to bring a less bloody end to the battle (see Alma 44:1). Similar to the earlier story, there were some who surrendered, and others who would not. Mormon does not give us much information about how the two groups were treated differently, save that he only mentions that those who had not laid down their arms were bound as they were taken to the place where the prisoners would be held.
